About the Artist

Franziska Daniels-Aurousseau was born in Japan and has lived her whole life in multicultural environments. She lives now with her family in Switzerland. (She is of both Swiss and French nationality)

She has had a life-long passion for indigenous cultures and their close relationships with nature. She feels herself very connected to its essence . “I am again and again fascinated by the astonishing variety and diversity in and of nature. As a painter I am always drawn to the challenge of capturing not only the forceful power but also the subtle side of nature and life.” Consequently, indigenous cultures and nature are frequently present in her work—often in the same piece. These influences can be found in her abstract work as well as her semi-figurative work. In addition, she seeks always to show the beauty of the interplay of light, and as a result most observers find her work to represent a positive view of the world.

She paints mostly with acrylics and raw pigments. Early in her career she developed her own principal technique in which she mixes diverse materials into the paints and pigments. Most of her paintings are on canvas, but some of her work is on wood and glass.

Franziska Daniels-Aurousseau has had numerous  exhibitions in Switzerland and France. Her shows have been favorably reviewed  in the press and on radio.  Her work can be found in both private and public collections in Europe and the USA.
